CENTREPOINT RETAIL PARK
In December 2025 We were instructed by JLL to carry out the refurbishment and fire protection upgrade of existing structural steel columns at Centrepoint Retail Park, Aberdeen through a programme of removal, preparation, protection, and reinstatement works. Soffit cladding, supports, and paving slabs around each column base were carefully removed and retained for reuse, while the concrete foundations were excavated to access the column bases. Delaminated HAC render was broken back to a sound substrate before the exposed steelwork was prepared using wire brushing to remove corrosion, dust, and debris. An IP Interseal 760HS LT primer coat was then applied to protect the steel prior to the installation of galvanized steel angle supports and Promat Vermiculux-S fire protection boards, fitted in accordance with ST VLUX DR045 standard fixing details for a double-layer, four-sided steel CHS protection system. Following installation, the concrete foundations were reinstated, new blue engineering brick plinths with coping courses were constructed, and all paving slabs, soffit panels, and supports were reinstated to match the existing finishes, delivering an improved level of fire protection, durability, and appearance to the structural columns
