This project involved repairing damaged concrete to restore the strength, appearance, and long-term durability of the structure. Areas of loose or deteriorated concrete were carefully removed to expose solid material underneath, while any corroded steel within the structure was cleaned, repaired, or replaced where necessary to ensure stability. Additional protection systems were installed to help reduce future corrosion and extend the lifespan of the repairs. Once the damaged areas had been rebuilt and reshaped to match the original surface, specialist treatments and protective coatings were applied to seal and strengthen the concrete, helping to protect it from water, weather, and ongoing wear.

Due to the project’s proximity to the marine environment, strict environmental protection measures were implemented throughout the works to minimise any risk of contamination. Materials were carefully controlled and only brought to the work area when required, with no unnecessary storage at the work face. Chemicals, fuels, plant, and equipment were stored on protected spill trays to prevent leaks, while spill response kits remained readily available on site at all times. Waste materials were removed and disposed of at designated locations away from the waterfront to help protect the surrounding environment and ensure the works were carried out responsibly and safely.
