STONEHAVEN OUTDOOR POOL

We were appointed by Aberdeenshire Council to undertake specialist concrete repair and waterproofing works to the outdoor swimming pool in Stonehaven, helping to extend the service life and improve the durability of this well-used public facility. Prior to commencing repairs, a detailed condition assessment of the structure was carried out, including hammer testing, carbonation testing, and chloride ion testing to identify areas of deterioration and determine the extent of remedial works required. All delaminated and defective concrete was then carefully removed using captive blasting techniques to expose sound substrates, before being reinstated with new repair concrete to restore structural integrity. Cracks within the structure were treated through specialist resin injection to prevent water ingress and improve long-term performance, while failed joint sealants were removed and replaced to maintain flexibility and watertightness. The project was completed with the application of high-performance waterproof coatings throughout the structure, providing a durable protective barrier designed to improve resilience against water penetration, environmental exposure, and ongoing wear in a demanding outdoor environment.
